Inside Krystal’s Re Set
Small Shifts, Big Impact: Krystal’s Home Re-Set
There is something powerful about a re set. Not a complete overhaul, but a considered shift. We sat down with Krystal to talk about how she re sets her space, what she reaches for first, and the small changes that make the biggest impact.
On What Re Setting Looks Like
“When I think about re setting my space, I always start with my bookshelves in my library room,” Krystal shares. “It is my favourite space in the house to reset.”
“For me, it is about rearranging the books and collectables. I love moving everything around and creating a new environment to read and relax in. It instantly changes the feeling of the room without needing to buy anything new.”
It is less about adding, and more about refining what is already there.
On What She Changes First
When her home feels slightly off rhythm, Krystal turns to scent.
“With the change of seasons I love to switch up our home scent with a new candle, paired with a room spray,” she explains. “It is such a simple update but it completely changes the mood of the space.”
A shift in scent marks a shift in season. It is subtle, but deeply effective.
On Tone and Texture
“I try to group colours together in each area of my home,” Krystal says. “My coffee table is shades of pink, burgundy and neutrals to match my leather couches, which creates a warm and inviting space.”
By keeping tones cohesive, the space feels calm but still considered. Texture adds depth without overwhelming. Glass, leather, books and soft furnishings work together to create balance.
On the Pieces She Gravitate Towards
When refreshing her space, Krystal admits she cannot go past new glassware.
“I love buying new glassware. Anything from Maison Balzac or the fun glass sets from Home Lab,” she says. “They are perfect for when you have guests over, or even just enjoying an iced coffee on the weekend.”
It is these everyday pieces that elevate simple rituals and make them feel more intentional.
On One Simple Swap
If there is one change she recommends to anyone wanting an instant refresh, it is this.
“New bedding can instantly refresh and elevate your space. You cannot beat fresh sheets.”
Sometimes a re set does not require a full transformation. Just a thoughtful shift. A new scent. Rearranged shelves. Fresh sheets. Small changes that bring everything back into rhythm.
