Meet The Team:
James Rigden & Rickie Dee
Introducing Holiday Club Diaries, a summer-ready series spotlighting the people behind Superette. We spoke to the team and asked them a few questions about the season ahead, from their seasonal picks to holiday traditions and must-visit getaway spots. Get an inside look at the personalities that bring Superette to life and discover their go-to summer style cues.
James Rigden:
Whats your role?
Director/Co founder, Keeping the ship on course and hiring the best people we can to bring the vision to life
What does your day to day look like?
Lots of data and reports, trying our best to understand our customers and curate the best experience we can for them. Lots of digital at the moment, improving and creating smarter systems so we can get our team more time with our customers and not doing admin. Spending time with the team, understanding the challenges and trying to remove any roadblocks that are getting in the way of everyone achieving their goals.
Whats your fave thing about working at Superette?
The teams desire to always be better than yesterday and passion to inspire our customers in everything we do.
Where will you be this Xmas and New Years?
On the road, we are fulfilling a bucket list family drive from AK across the straight (first time on the ferry) into Able Tasman and onwards down the west coast through to Glenorchy. We have about 2 and half weeks exploring our beautiful country, lots of hikes, bike rides, e bike rides, jet boat, pack rafts, fishing, freediving, golf and anything else that comes up along the way. Been so much fun organising it and hearing friends and family's past experiences and recommendations.
What's your current fave item or brand from Superette?
You'll notice the RUN, Golf and Adventure edits on the website ATM, pop in there and you'll see everything I have on my wishlist for Summer
Rickie Dee:
What’s your role?
I’m one of the Directors at Superette and I oversee our Brand, Buying, and In-House Brand teams.
What does your day-to-day look like?
No two days are ever the same, but I usually kick things off with a gym session and a coffee. I’m in the office by 8am, where my day can involve catching up with the team on current and upcoming campaigns, meeting with our in-house designers to review collections and samples, or working with the buyers on budgets and future ranges. I also make sure to visit one (or a few) of our stores each week to stay connected with our amazing retail teams.
What’s your fave thing about working at Superette?
The team, the product, and the energy. Retail is fast-paced — we’re constantly pivoting, creating, and thinking ahead. I love that no two days are ever the same. In our 23rd year and each day never feels like ‘work’
Where will you be this Summer Break?
Omaha for a proper reset, sunshine, family time, and chill. A kiwi summer is always the best.
What’s your current fave item or brand from Superette?
This is honestly the hardest question I have too many favourites. But on my current wish list:
Elka Collective Kylie Mini Skirt
Fab for daytime with an oversized tee or dressed up with a heel for a summer evening.
Alias Mae Chase Heel in Scarlet
Loving the red pop (so on trend), and the puff detail is such a vibe.
Agolde 90s Pinch Waist
All about a slimmer jean at the moment.
Superette Payson Shirt
Our best-selling shirt for a reason.
Hunza G Tyler Bikini
Completely obsessed with all things Hunza G.
