Drake Street - Burner Milano

To explore the story behind the collection, we sat down with Drake Street designer Ryan Foster to talk inspiration, favourite pieces and what he hopes people experience when they step into this new chapter of the brand.

Some places move at a different pace. Northern Italy is one of them.

Morning espressos taken standing at the bar. Long lunches that stretch comfortably into the afternoon. Evenings that unfold slowly across sun soaked piazzas and quiet side streets. It is a lifestyle defined by ease, intention and a deep appreciation for the everyday.

The latest Drake Street collection draws from that rhythm. Inspired by the unhurried pace and effortless style found across Northern Italy, the collection focuses on relaxed tailoring, considered fabrics and pieces designed to move easily through the day. From morning coffee to late evening aperitivo, the wardrobe is built around versatility, comfort and understated confidence.

What inspired this collection?
I spent a bit of time in Milan while traveling Europe last year and living that morning cafΓ© and evening wine bar culture at a slower pace really had me enjoying the vibes and feeling inspired.

If you had to describe the mood of this collection in three words, what would they be?
Understated, Confident & Classic.

Who do you imagine wearing this collection? Where is he going, what does his day look like?
It’s really for anyone who wants great classic menswear, to be comfortable and confident in what they are wearing. Something that won’t go out of trend in 5 minutes. I think his day starts with a gym workout or a run then off to a cafΓ© to work from his laptop sending a few emails while enjoying his morning coffee well earned. Then in the eve off to dinner or a casual drink with friends or a date at a dimly lit little speak easy with a red wine or Peroni in hand.

Is there one piece from the collection that really captures the essence of the story for you?
I think it would be a couple of pieces worn together not just one single piece. The Reale Jacket and the Reale Pleat pant are essence of that Milanse dressing up but still with a laid back element.

Whats your personal favourite from the collection? Something you find yourself reaching for the most?
That’s like choosing your favourite child how can I do that, I want it all.
I do have a soft spot for the Dante waffle though if I had a gun to my head and had to choose.

What excites you most about people discovering this collection for the first time?
The attention to the detail, a lot of thought has been put into the details of each piece, I want these pieces to be in wardrobes for a long time and to become the pair of pants or shirts you end up painting a house or working on projects in, modern vintage as such.
