The Beyond Series: A day in the life with Fatima Savea

As part of our new Superette Beyond campaign, we profiled five amazing women to understand what a day in the life looks like for them, what keeps them busy and their own unique style. Superette Beyond was intentionally designed for woman living a multi-faceted, on-the-go lifestyle. As a mother, wife, soon-to-be student and business owner – Fatima Savea was the perfect first profile to launch the campaign with.

Tell us a little about yourself… what keeps you busy?

I’m a wife, mother, business owner and currently also studying towards a diploma in communications. I think my day to day life keeps me on my feet and busy. I’m usually on my own in Auckland as my husband works in Wellington so trying to juggle mum life, keeping on top of housework while also working and now with studying can be quite full on.

Walk us through your average daily routine.

Wake up is between 6:30-7.00am

I usually spend at least 10 minutes checking emails and scrolling socials before I have to get up. I get my morning skincare routine done and then get Jude’s lunch ready for kindy, get her breakfast made, dress her and we try get out the house by 8.00am for kindy drop off.

On my way home I stop off at Holy Shot coffee in Takapuna and get my go-to oat latte and walk my dog Rocky on the beach. Once I’m home I get ready for nail clients, as I run my own nail salon from home, and then I usually finish around 1.00pm.

I try get dinner prepped before I have to pickup Jude from kindy or run some errands like grocery shopping, post office runs for my other small luxury handbag rental business and other life admin things that need doing. I then pickup Jude from kindy around 4pm, get dinner on the table and then it’s bath and bedtime.

After Jude goes down for bed, I like to get my night skincare routine done and wind down with some Netflix and a cup of tea by the fireplace. And then repeat again everyday!

Do you have any morning routine non-negotiables?

Skincare routine is non-negotiable! I have to make sure my skin is well looked after before I start my day and before my day ends too.

What’s important to you when you decide what to wear in the morning?

Comfort is key! If I’m sitting down doing clients nails all day I have to be comfortable and usually will either be in activewear or track pants and a hoody. If I’m heading to an event or lunch with a friend I’ll make an effort to dress up. But my outfit of the day really depends on what I have scheduled for that day and how comfortable I need to be.
