International Womens Day
5 Minutes with Chloe Zara from CZE
As part of our International Women’s Day series, we’re spotlighting the inspiring women behind some of our favourite New Zealand brands. This time, we sit down with Chloe Zara, founder of CZE Hair, to talk about balancing business and motherhood, trusting her intuition, and the creative journey that led her to launching her own haircare range. From daily rituals to style essentials, Chloe shares what keeps her inspired and what’s next for CZE.
Tell us a little about yourself – what keeps you busy? What do you do?
I am the Founder of CZE Hair, and a mother, all of which keeps me very busy!
What does a day in your life look like?
I always try to fit in an hour of exercise to start or finish my day. The mornings are always hectic with getting the kids ready for drop off, then it’s straight into my working day which is usually filled with lots of planning, meetings and creating content. I feel fortunate enough that I can work flexible hours while my kids are so young, I always love daycare and school pick up and seeing their happy little faces.
What inspires you?
The modern woman, so many mothers are juggling their careers with young kids which is both incredibly challenging and rewarding.
What did you dream of being or doing when you were younger?
Always something within a creative space, I ended up falling into the hairdressing industry and absolutely thrived, finding my passion for doing hair. In my twenties, my dream was to create my own haircare range, and so I did.
What is the most important piece of advice you have been given?
Trust my intuition, and block out the noise. I find this helps for my mindset on both being a mother and a business owner.
What are you most proud of?
Getting through our haircare rebrand, which was an incredibly challenging time. Giving up was never an option and I am so proud of the determination and passion I have for my business.
What does fashion mean to you?
It’s something I absolutely love, I think it also plays a part in how I love to create effortlessly, beautiful hair. I see a hairstyle as an extension of an outfit, which really helps it all come together for that polished look.
Describe your style in three words… Effortless, timeless, chic.
Name your top three favourite pieces that’s currently available at Superette?
Camilla and Marc Nemesia Trench, Agolde Luna Pieced Jean and the St. Agni Organic Cotton Baby Tee.
What are you looking forward to this year?
More travel with CZE Hair to launch into more Australian stores and launching an exciting new product.
